Transparency: how this site is funded

Where the money that keeps this site running comes from, what it is spent on, and what we never do with it.

A site that gives advice about money should be transparent about its own. Here it is.

Where the money comes from. Three sources, in this order of importance:

Donations
The main source, and the one we prefer, because it conditions nothing. Anyone can give what they want, once, via PayPal, Ko-fi or Mercado Pago. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. The current goal and the amount raised are visible in the support block on every page.
Advertising
Ads served by Google AdSense. They always sit after the useful content, never inside an emergency instruction and never disguised as a recommendation of ours.
Affiliate links
Amazon and Mercado Libre. If you buy a product through a link marked as affiliate, we receive a commission at no extra cost to you.

What it is spent on. Domain, hosting, development tools, and the time spent researching and writing the guides. There is no office, no payroll and no investors.

Free content, always. No paywall, no donor-only content, no mandatory registration. The people who need this information most are usually the ones least able to pay for it.
